Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 15, 2025
At Biolynx, we believe you deserve to know exactly what happens with your information when you visit our recipe site. This isn't one of those policies written by lawyers for lawyers. We've tried to make it clear and honest because that's how we operate.
We run a simple recipe website focused on quick and easy cooking ideas. We're based in Latvia, which means we follow EU data protection rules (GDPR) and Latvian privacy laws. But more than that, we just think it's the right thing to respect your privacy.
Who We Are
Biolynx operates revert.app-mesv4.com, a recipe platform helping people discover cooking inspiration without the fuss. Our office is located at Korporācijas nams, Tērbatas iela 28, Centra rajons, Rīga, LV-1011, Latvia. When it comes to your data, we're the ones responsible—the "data controller" in legal terms.
What Information We Collect
Information You Give Us Directly
When you reach out through our contact form or sign up for recipe updates, you might share things like your name and email address. Sometimes people tell us their cooking preferences or dietary restrictions so we can be more helpful. That's about it for what you actively provide.
Information We Collect Automatically
Like most websites, ours collects some technical information when you visit. Nothing creepy, just the basics that help us keep things running smoothly:
- Your IP address and general location (city or region, not your exact address)
- What browser and device you're using
- Which pages you look at and how long you stick around
- How you found us—whether through search, social media, or a direct link
- Date and time of your visit
We use cookies and similar tech for this. More on that in a bit.
Information from Other Sources
If you connect with us through social media or other platforms, we might receive basic profile information like your username or public profile details. But only if you choose to interact with us there.
How We Use Your Information
We're pretty straightforward about why we collect data. Here's what we do with it:
| Purpose | Legal Basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to your messages and questions | Your consent and our legitimate interest in customer service |
| Sending recipe updates if you've asked for them | Your consent (you can unsubscribe anytime) |
| Improving our website and fixing technical issues | Legitimate interest in providing a functional service |
| Understanding which recipes are popular | Legitimate interest in content development |
| Complying with legal obligations | Legal requirement |
We don't sell your data. Period. We're a recipe site, not a data broker. Your information stays with us unless there's a genuine reason to share it, which brings us to the next section.
Who We Share Information With
We work with a few trusted service providers who help us run the site. They might see some of your data, but only what they need to do their job:
- Web hosting services that keep our site online
- Email service providers if you've signed up for updates
- Analytics tools that help us understand site usage (anonymized data)
- Technical support partners when we need help with infrastructure
All these partners are bound by strict agreements to protect your information. We also might share data if legally required—like responding to valid court orders or protecting against fraud.
Some of our service providers operate outside the EU. When data leaves the European Economic Area, we make sure proper safeguards are in place, like Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
Cookies and Tracking
Cookies are small text files that websites put on your device. We use them to remember your preferences and understand how people use our site. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some features might not work as well without them.
We use essential cookies (needed for the site to work), analytics cookies (to see what content people like), and preference cookies (to remember your settings). We don't use advertising cookies—we're not tracking you around the internet.
Your Rights Under GDPR
EU privacy law gives you solid rights over your personal data. Here's what you can do:
Access Your Data
You can ask us what personal information we have about you. We'll provide a copy within 30 days, usually faster.
Correct Inaccurate Data
If something we have is wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it promptly.
Delete Your Data
You can ask us to delete your information, and we will unless we have a legal reason to keep it.
Restrict Processing
You can ask us to temporarily stop using your data while we verify accuracy or resolve concerns.
Data Portability
Request your data in a common, machine-readable format to move it somewhere else if you want.
Object to Processing
You can object to how we use your data, especially for direct marketing (though we barely do any).
Withdraw Consent
If we're using your data based on consent, you can change your mind anytime. It doesn't affect prior uses.
Lodge a Complaint
If you think we've mishandled your data, you can complain to Latvia's Data State Inspectorate or your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, just send us an email at info@revert.app-mesv4.com or call +371 67211415. We'll need to verify your identity first, but we'll respond within one month. No hassle, no runaround.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We don't hoard information forever. Here's our general approach:
- Contact form submissions: Kept for up to 2 years after our last interaction, then deleted
- Email subscribers: Until you unsubscribe, then removed within 30 days
- Website analytics: Aggregated data kept for 3 years, individual visit data for 14 months
- Legal records: Kept as long as required by Latvian and EU law
When we delete data, we actually delete it—not just archive it somewhere. If there's a specific legal reason to keep something longer, we'll only retain what's necessary.
Security Measures
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Our website uses HTTPS encryption, our servers have security protocols in place, and access to personal data is limited to team members who actually need it.
That said, no online system is 100% secure. We do our best, but we can't guarantee absolute security. If we ever discover a data breach that affects you, we'll notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Children's Privacy
Our site isn't specifically aimed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal information from kids. If you're a parent and think your child has given us information, please contact us and we'll delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We might update this policy occasionally as our site evolves or laws change. When we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top and might send a notification if you're subscribed to our updates. It's worth checking back now and then.
Major changes won't take effect immediately—we'll give you time to review them and decide if you still want to use our site.
Third-Party Links
Sometimes our recipes or articles link to other websites—ingredient suppliers, cooking tool manufacturers, or related resources. We're not responsible for their privacy practices. When you click an external link, their policies apply, not ours.
